    We are not afraid to show them, however you should be aware of some important aspects of these products. Some incorporate toxic ingredients, others have flawed designs and "imaginary" minerals. Once you've tried our product you too will realize that RD Fresh has NO competition!

    Some of our so called competitors

    • ...use panels that are attached directly to the ceiling, not suspended from the ceiling like RD FRESH. Limited air flow means limited effectiveness.
    • ...are using a single mineral which they do not even identify.RD FRESH uses a combination of 4 different minerals clearly identified for a multi-faceted solution for specific applications.
    • ...use cotton or burlap bags to encase their minerals. RD FRESH uses DuPont TyVek which is FDA approved for direct contact with food.
    • ...use "minerals" which they call Saugin and / or Guerite… a simple check of any mineral list will reveal that no such minerals exist.
    • ...cannot supply MSDS sheets. RD FRESH MSDS sheets are clearly displayed and are even printable directly from our website. click here to view
    • ...use a "hybrid" of zeolite and potassium permanganate... Potassium Permanganate is on a number of "hazard lists" such as New Jersey and Pennsylvania... and even the EPA issues serious warnings about the substance.

    Potassium Permanganate is on the Hazardous Substance List because it is cited by DOT and EPA. www.epa.gov/ogwdw/mdbp/pdf/alter/chapt_5.pdf... "Potassium permanganate is toxic and irritating to skin and mucous membranes, may cause health problems such as chemical jaundice and drop in blood pressure and can be fatal if swallowed."

    This letter is to notify you that we would like for RD Fresh to service both of our restaurants again. After 4 months of using Eco Roq, we have noticed a drastic decrease in produce quality, and massive ice build-up in our walk-in freezer. The odor is also much greater since we switched from your company.

    I have to admit, it seemed really enticing with the lower price and free gaskets, but it definitely did not equal out due to the amount of produce we have been wasting. When we sampled the product, we still had a couple of your holders in our walk in's, so that gave us an inaccurate assessment of the difference.

    Thank you so much for responding so quickly, and reinstalling your equipment. We are looking forward to getting our produce quality and cost back under control.

    Many have tried before!

    One of the most frequently asked questions we hear is "If this is such a good idea, why hasn't it been done before?". Well actually, many companies have tried but none have succeeded in developing a product as effective as RD FResh.

    Industry "giants" such as Honeywell, Proctor & Gamble and even the Department of Energy have tried and failed to do what RD FRESH has done so successfully.

    In P&G's application it cites the exact same reasons we do as to why baking soda is ineffective (surface area, exposure) and also specifically points out why coconut shell carbon and zeolites are effective, the difference between "adsorption" (VegieFresh) and "absorption" (baking soda). The patent application even goes so far as to talk about the need for increased air exposure (our clamshell design) and a safe, permeable housing for the adsorbent materials (our DuPont Tyvek). Unbelievably, the patent application goes on to talk about informing the consumer as to the benefits of the product and the need for distinct packaging and instructions to do so.

    As noted by the US Department of Energy
    "The (minerals) work in concert with chillers to significantly increase energy efficiency by allowing chillers to cool low moisture air.."
    The National Renewable Laboratory in Colorado (NREL), the principal desiccant research site for the US Department of Energy)..."...estimates that desiccant dehumidification could cut electricity demand by as much as 25%... but these systems haven't made significant inroads in the market because of the high initial cost..."

    As you can see from the excerpts above, efforts have been ongoing for years attempting to use minerals and systems similar to RD FRESH, but have failed for the reasons described. RD FRESH has succeeded by determining the correct proportions and particulate sizes for the various minerals as well as designing a highly efficient “fixed bed” passive application system (panels and panel placement) that makes use of the already existing fan motors within the walk-in coolers as well as focusing on the air exchange and ambient temperature variations between the kitchen environment and the walk-in at the entrance to the walk-in...avoiding the high cost of a complicated devices that requires professional [costly] installation.. and oddly enough must use energy to save energy.
